Well we got hacked recently which resulted in some rather nasty PHP and JScript being injected into the site and the whole thing being blocked by Google the very day we launched the new WordPress series. Shortly after that our membership management software bonked and we spent a month with their tech support team fruitlessly trying to fix it.
This meant that the WordPress Class series launched and then fizzled completely and we temporarily closed it.
Needless to say that was a learning experience, but we are BACK, rising from the mess like a Phoenix with a new membership system (Digital Access Pro) in place and a higher rate of $59.95 per month.
There is no trial fee anymore so your referrals will be at the full monthly rate unless they subscribed at the charter membership level. Charter member rates will stay at $49.95 for good.
More news
We will shortly be re-launching WordPress Class. This is 20 individual step by step video tutorials that go from newbie lessons to more advanced, themes, plugins and yes, security!
Pricing is to be determined and we’d love your input on what a fair price for a WordPress Quickstart course like this would be. As always, Email or comments are welcome.
We expect to launch it the first week of October, along with a more channel oriented navigation to get people quickly to what they want to learn, and Clickbank vets the new pages.
Thanks for being an affiliate!

This morning I was looking for information on a translator for one of my projects and I did some searches on localization and translation. That lead me to a pile of blog posts on how to reach a bigger audience by translating sites into multiple languages and of course there’s an ebook out there called "How to Localize Products for Success in Foreign Markets".
Did I download it? You betcha! Did I read more on that site? You betcha!
So, what’s the secret to getting that download? It’s simple really. Having the content I needed–at the moment I needed it–and being easy to find. If what you’re looking to market is easy for me to find when I’m searching for the perfect answer to my problem at 2 AM, I’m gonna buy it.
Everybody knows that blogs are search engine candy, so it makes sense that writing up a review of a product or even just a description with an excerpt can go a long way towards marketing that product and getting your affiliate dollars flowing in.
There are a couple caveats though.
The New FCC regulations stipulate you’ve got to be transparent about your relationship to the product. If you’re an affiliate you should be disclosing your relationship. If you’ve been given a sample or could make money from the sale you need to disclose that. One easy way to do this and make sure you are in compliance with the FCC rules is to simply include a compliance link. Check out this site (no "I’m not an affiliate) CMP.LY for very simple ways to be in compliance with just a link. For example if you’re using an affiliate link just post a link to the disclosures for affiliates like this CMP.ly/5 and you’re good to go. This way if somebody shares that link or sends information in an email your disclosure goes with it and keeps you in compliance. Cool eh?
Beyond compliance you also have to think about context. If your blog is about dogs and you write a post to promote an e-book on how to build a wind power generator in your spare time it’s going to stick out like a sore thumb. Try to keep your posts in context and they’ll get more search engine love and maybe I’ll find it in the middle of the night and buy it!
